dining with Celiac disease

navigating gluten-free dining

Denison Hospitality understands how challenging it can be to eat safely outside your own kitchen when you have celiac disease. We offer several options to help accommodate our gluten-free diners. All of our menu boards flag recipes made-without-gluten, ingredients are available online, and we offer several spaces dedicated to gluten-free items. Our Worryless Pantry program is designed for students with celiac disease (and with peanut or tree-nut allergies!) and is a swipe secured space that our dietitian grants access too. This space features sealed gluten-free foods to supplement your mealtime and designated equipment like microwaves, airfyrers, and toasters to make your meal yours. Students must meet with the dietitian and be registered with accessibility resources to apply. Additionally, our amazing allgood station in The Table at Curtis is free of the top 9 allergens, including wheat, serving wholesome meals that will always be made without gluten and on separate equipment. All our spaces offer made-without-gluten alternatives like bagels, breads, waffles, and treats to complete your meals.

Purple Dot Program

In our retail spaces like Slayter and Slivys, we run our Purple Dot Program. This program helps make ordering your food safer. Once you order and have made a special request either verbally or through the Grubhub app, a trained employee will ensure your order is made with special attention to prevent cross-contact. A purple dot sticker will be added to your order indicating that our staff saw your request for dietary accommodations. Separate pick-up areas are available in Slayter. Please work with the dietitian to fully understand how to use this program safely and efficiently. We do operate open kitchens meaning gluten will be present within facilities.
