Health & Wellbeing
This is Our Philosophy
Food is something we have to do every day, multiple times a day, and here at Denison we love to eat! We know food is more than physical nourishment, but also a social, emotional, and spiritual way to care for our minds and bodies. Food is fuel and so much more! Be it sitting down to enjoy a favorite meal or grabbing something quick to fuel a busy day, good food matters. The food choices we make directly impact the energy and focus we need to reach our goals, every day and throughout our lives!
Eating well takes time, effort, and understanding your individual needs, which can be a huge challenge at college. We got you! Our dining program is built by a team of chefs and a team of food lovers who are here to help make it easy for you. From new flavors and recipes to culturally inspired dishes and nutritionally balanced meals, we will keep you fed and fueled. Ongoing nutrition and wellbeing programs with fun food-focused events will make you at Home on The Hill.
Meet Rachel

Rachel works closely with the culinary team and management staff to ensure there is a variety of nutrient-dense choices available across campus every day to support well-being. Cool Food Meals have a low carbon footprint, already meeting the level of food-related emissions the World Resource Institute’s research say we need meals to have by 2030. Using an ingredients list, WRI calculate a dish’s carbon footprint by analyzing the agricultural supply chain and land used to produce the meal. If the carbon footprint falls below an established per-meal threshold and meets nutritional standards, it is certified as a Cool Food Meal.
